In this first post, I’m going to talk about why I decided to become a Freelance Proofreader.
I previously worked in various fields, but the jobs had very less to do with what I had studied in school/high school: languages.
I have a passion for foreign languages. I speak English and Spanish (but to be honest, my knowledge of Spanish is limited). I plan to learn Greek (for personal reasons) and Italian. I think, the more languages I know, the better.
My native language is French. I almost always write in English but have fewer occasions to speak it. At some point, I even had pen pals I wrote to. Due to things getting busier in real life, I stopped sending handwritten letters.
That was the small story. Now, why a Freelance Proofreader?
Well, I believe I have the skills to get the job done. I can proofread and/or translate any document from French to English (or English to French). I can manage my work time. I am a very organized person and someone who pays attention to detail.
I know this will be a lot of work but I’m ready for it!
